Honestly, it speaks for itself… literally. Being my first real self-portrait after being an artist for my whole life, I think this was long overdue. It’s what I see when I look in the mirror, when I close my eyes, when I think of the end. My pieces never really have the most positive thoughts being shot through my head when I create them and this was no exception. The further along I got though, the more I started to actually set aside my cynicism, stop being so focused on imperfections, and just let myself create. I’m proud.
